the visuals while pretty get in the way of clarity when it comes to path finding. the entire game suffers from scope creep as their idea of improving things is just adding additional layers to everything and making things too overcomplicated. I disagree with every choice the developers made on a fundamental level. every time i see a topic about forbidden west i feel disgust about the game lol. it was my favorite new ip of the last generation. for context, i considered the original better than titles like god of war and spider-man. the franchise feels dead to after being a massive fan of the first game. Horizon forbidden west is one of my biggest gaming disappointments ever. It's the kind of thing that manifests itself in a steam review that's like playtime 500 hours, thumbs up, review text 'i hate this game' Or like it's hard for me to talk about la-mulana because all i want to do is spend time saying how bullshit and awful a lot of things in that game are, and how much i hate it, but also it's one of my favorite games ever made and everyone should play it (and telling them they will hate it) like there's no reason to say anything good about it because it's entirely based on feeling There are also a lot of games i truly love or have infiltrated their way into my brain incredibly deeply, and oftentimes this manifests in talking about small flaws as if they are the most important thing ever, like going into paragraphs and not shutting up about how x thing is too overtuned or y thing is a bad part of the game, and a lot of the time that's the only thing i even have to talk about because i value the game so much that saying good things about it isn't going to properly explain why i love it.
